Edavit Injection contains Edaravone, a potent free radical scavenger with neuroprotective and antioxidant properties. It helps reduce oxidative stress, limits neuronal damage, and improves neurological recovery following acute ischemic stroke by protecting brain cells from free radical-induced injury.

Edavit Injection is indicated for the improvement of neurological symptoms, activities of daily living, and functional disorders associated with acute ischemic stroke. It is used as part of the management strategy to reduce neurological impairment and improve patient recovery following cerebral ischemia.

Edaravone exerts its therapeutic effect by scavenging highly reactive hydroxyl and peroxynitrite free radicals that contribute significantly to neuronal injury during cerebral ischemia. By reducing oxidative stress and inhibiting lipid peroxidation, it protects neuronal cell membranes from damage, limits cerebral edema, improves regional cerebral blood flow, and promotes neurological recovery following acute ischemic stroke.

The recommended dosage of Edavit Injection is 60 mg administered as an intravenous infusion over 60 minutes. The initial treatment cycle consists of once-daily administration for 14 consecutive days, followed by a 14-day drug-free period. Subsequent treatment cycles involve once-daily administration for 10 days within a 14-day period, followed by another 14-day drug-free interval, or as directed by the physician.

Edavit Injection is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Edaravone or any of the excipients present in the formulation.
