Composition
Each tablet contains Nicergoline 30 mg.
Features / Experimentation
Nicerbium Tablets contain Nicergoline, an ergot derivative with cerebral and peripheral vasodilatory properties. It improves cerebral and peripheral blood circulation, enhances oxygen and glucose utilization in brain tissues, and supports neuronal metabolism. The medicine also exhibits neuroprotective, antioxidant, and antiplatelet properties, making it beneficial in managing vascular and metabolic disorders affecting the brain and peripheral circulation.
Indications
Nicerbium Tablets are indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic cerebral and peripheral vascular metabolic disorders, including cerebrovascular insufficiency, Raynaud's syndrome, and other conditions associated with impaired peripheral blood flow. It is also used to improve cerebral circulation and support cognitive function in patients with vascular insufficiency.
Pharmacodynamics
Nicergoline has a broad spectrum of pharmacological actions that contribute to its therapeutic benefits. As an alpha-adrenergic receptor antagonist, it promotes vasodilation and increases arterial blood flow to cerebral and peripheral tissues. It enhances cholinergic and catecholaminergic neurotransmission, improving neuronal function and cognitive performance. Additionally, Nicergoline inhibits platelet aggregation, enhances oxygen and glucose utilization within brain tissue, and possesses neurotrophic and antioxidant properties that help protect neurons from oxidative stress and improve overall cerebral metabolism.
Dosage and administration
The recommended dosage is 30 mg once daily for the management of cerebrovascular insufficiency. For peripheral vasodilation, the recommended dosage is 30 mg twice daily, or as directed by the physician.
Contraindications
Nicerbium Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Nicergoline or any component of the formulation.
