Composition
Each 2 mL / 4 mL ampoule contains Citicoline Sodium equivalent to Citicoline 250 mg/mL.
Features / Experimentation
Nurocol Injection 1.2 contains Citicoline, a neuroprotective and membrane-stabilizing agent that supports neuronal repair and recovery following acute neurological injury. It promotes the synthesis of phospholipids essential for neuronal cell membrane integrity, enhances brain metabolism, and improves neuronal function. The injectable formulation is designed for rapid therapeutic intervention in patients with acute neurological disorders, including traumatic brain injury and cerebral infarction.
Indications
Nurocol Injection 1.2 is indicated for the treatment of disturbances of consciousness resulting from head injuries, brain surgery, and the acute stage of cerebral infarction in adult patients. It supports neurological recovery by promoting neuronal repair and improving brain function during the acute phase of injury.
Pharmacodynamics
Citicoline is a pyrimidine 5′-nucleotide that serves as an essential precursor for the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine (lecithin) and other membrane phospholipids. It enhances the structural integrity and functional stability of neuronal cell membranes by promoting membrane repair and regeneration. Citicoline also improves cerebral metabolism, supports neurotransmitter synthesis, reduces neuronal damage following ischemic injury, and contributes to the recovery of cognitive and neurological function.
Dosage and administration
The usual adult dosage is 100–500 mg once or twice daily, administered by intravenous injection or intravenous drip infusion. The dosage should be individualized according to the patient's age, clinical condition, and physician's recommendation.
Contraindications
Nurocol Injection 1.2 is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Citicoline or any component of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with hypertonia of the parasympathetic nervous system.
