Each tablet contains Trihexyphenidyl 2 mg.

Parkin Tablets contain Trihexyphenidyl, a centrally acting anticholinergic agent indicated for the management of Parkinson's disease and drug-induced parkinsonism. By reducing central cholinergic activity and restoring the balance between dopamine and acetylcholine in the basal ganglia, it helps improve tremor, muscle rigidity, and motor function, thereby enhancing mobility and quality of life in patients with Parkinsonian disorders.

Parkin Tablets are indicated for the treatment of all forms of Parkinson's disease, including idiopathic, post-encephalitic, and arteriosclerotic parkinsonism. They are also useful in the management of drug-induced extrapyramidal symptoms and parkinsonism associated with antipsychotic therapy.

Trihexyphenidyl is a centrally acting antimuscarinic (anticholinergic) agent that exerts a direct inhibitory effect on the parasympathetic nervous system. It reduces central cholinergic activity in the basal ganglia, restoring the balance between acetylcholine and dopamine, which is disrupted in Parkinson's disease. In addition, it possesses a direct relaxing effect on smooth muscle through both direct action on muscle tissue and indirect inhibition of parasympathetic activity, thereby improving tremor, rigidity, and voluntary muscle movement.

For the treatment of Parkinsonism, the recommended initial dose is 1 mg on the first day, followed by gradual dose increments of 2 mg every three to five days until a total daily dose of 6–10 mg is achieved, or as directed by the treating physician.

Parkin Tablets are contraindicated in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, known hypersensitivity to Trihexyphenidyl or any component of the formulation, and should not be used in patients with conditions where anticholinergic therapy is contraindicated.
