Valprid-CR Tablets contain Controlled Release Sodium Valproate and Valproic Acid 200 mg, 300 mg, or 500 mg. The controlled-release formulation provides sustained plasma concentrations of valproate for prolonged seizure control with convenient once-daily dosing.

Valprid-CR Tablets provide broad-spectrum antiepileptic activity for the management of various seizure disorders. The controlled-release formulation ensures sustained drug release, stable plasma concentrations, improved patient compliance through once-daily dosing, and effective seizure control by enhancing inhibitory neurotransmission within the central nervous system.

Valprid-CR Tablets are indicated for the treatment of all forms of epilepsy as a broad-spectrum antiepileptic medication.

Sodium Valproate and Valproic Acid exert their antiepileptic activity primarily by potentiating the inhibitory action of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) within the central nervous system. Enhanced GABA-mediated neurotransmission suppresses excessive neuronal firing and reduces the initiation and propagation of epileptic seizures.

Valprid-CR Tablets are intended for once-daily oral administration. Treatment is generally initiated at 15 mg/kg/day, with dosage increases of 5–10 mg/kg/day at weekly intervals until adequate seizure control is achieved or dose-limiting adverse effects occur. The maximum recommended dosage is 60 mg/kg/day, or as directed by the physician.

Valprid-CR Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Sodium Valproate, Valproic Acid, or any component of the formulation, active liver disease, and urea cycle disorders.
