Features / Experimentation

Broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibacterial formulation effective against susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial infections. Provides reliable treatment for respiratory tract, urinary tract and skin infections.

Indications

Indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections, skin and skin structure infections caused by staphylococci or streptococci, pharyngitis, tonsillitis and respiratory tract infections.

Pharmacodynamics

Cefadroxil is a bactericidal cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell lysis and death.

Dosage and administration

Adults: UTI – 1–2 g/day in single or divided doses. Skin and skin structure infections and pharyngitis – 1 g/day in single or divided doses for 10 days. Children: 30 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 12 hours for 10 days or as directed by the physician.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics or any component of the formulation.
