Each gram contains Diclofenac Diethylamine 1.16% w/w (equivalent to Diclofenac Sodium 1% w/w), Linseed Oil 3.0% w/w, Methyl Salicylate IP 10% w/w, Menthol IP 5% w/w, and Benzyl Alcohol IP 1% w/w.

Divon Gel is a topical anti-inflammatory and analgesic formulation that combines Diclofenac Diethylamine with Linseed Oil, Methyl Salicylate, and Menthol to provide localized relief from pain, inflammation, and stiffness. The gel penetrates the affected tissues to reduce inflammation while minimizing systemic exposure. It is suitable for the management of osteoarthritis-related joint pain and various musculoskeletal conditions, offering effective topical pain relief with a cooling and soothing effect.

Divon Gel is indicated for the relief of pain amenable to topical treatment, including osteoarthritis of joints such as the knees and hands, as well as muscle pain and other localized musculoskeletal conditions.

Diclofenac inhibits the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes involved in the arachidonic acid pathway, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins, thromboxanes, and prostacyclin, which are key mediators of pain and inflammation. This inhibition results in reduced local inflammation, pain, and swelling. The addition of Methyl Salicylate and Menthol provides counter-irritant and cooling effects that further enhance analgesia, while Linseed Oil contributes to anti-inflammatory activity and improves skin penetration of the active ingredients.

For the lower extremities, apply 4 g of gel to the affected area four times daily, without exceeding 16 g per day to any single affected joint. For the upper extremities, apply 2 g of gel to the affected area four times daily, without exceeding 8 g per day to any single affected joint. The total daily dose should not exceed 32 g across all affected joints, or as directed by the treating physician.

Divon Gel is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diclofenac, aspirin, other NSAIDs, or any component of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions following aspirin or other NSAIDs, during coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, and during the third trimester of pregnancy.
