Each tablet contains Sevelamer Carbonate 400 mg / 800 mg.

Forsemer Tablets contain Sevelamer Carbonate, a non-calcium, non-metal phosphate binder indicated for the control of serum phosphorus levels in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). By binding dietary phosphate in the gastrointestinal tract, it reduces phosphate absorption and helps manage hyperphosphatemia in patients undergoing dialysis as well as selected non-dialysis CKD patients.

Forsemer Tablets are indicated for the control of serum phosphorus in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) on haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, and in patients with CKD not on dialysis with serum phosphate levels greater than 5.5 mg/dL.

Sevelamer Carbonate is a non-absorbed, cross-linked phosphate-binding polymer that is free of both calcium and metal ions. The polymer contains multiple amine groups that become protonated in the gastrointestinal tract, enabling them to bind dietary phosphate through ionic and hydrogen bonding. This prevents phosphate absorption from the intestine, thereby reducing serum phosphorus concentrations and helping control hyperphosphatemia in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease.

The recommended starting dose is 0.8 g or 1.6 g orally three times daily with meals, depending on the patient's serum phosphorus level. The dose should be adjusted based on serum phosphate concentrations and the treating physician's clinical judgment.

Forsemer Tablets are contraindicated in patients with bowel obstruction or known hypersensitivity to Sevelamer Carbonate or any component of the formulation.
