Each tablet contains Bicalutamide 50 mg.

Avobi Tablets contain Bicalutamide, a non-steroidal antiandrogen that blocks the action of androgens on prostate cancer cells. It is used in combination with LHRH analogue therapy or following surgical castration to help slow the progression of advanced prostate cancer and improve disease management.

Avobi Tablets are indicated for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer in combination with an LHRH analogue or following surgical castration.

Bicalutamide is a non-steroidal androgen receptor inhibitor that competitively binds to androgen receptors in target tissues, preventing the action of endogenous androgens such as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. Since prostate cancer growth is largely androgen dependent, inhibition of androgen receptor activation suppresses tumour cell stimulation and slows disease progression. When administered in combination with luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) analogues or following surgical castration, Bicalutamide provides comprehensive androgen blockade, helping control advanced prostate cancer.

The recommended dose is one tablet once daily, or as directed by the physician.

Avobi Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Bicalutamide or any component of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in women, including pregnant and breastfeeding women.
