Each capsule contains Silodosin 8 mg and Dutasteride 0.5 mg.

The formulation helps improve urinary flow, relieves lower urinary tract symptoms, and reduces prostate enlargement by targeting both the dynamic and static components of BPH.

Avoprost D Capsules are indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate.

Avoprost D Capsules combine two complementary agents that address the underlying mechanisms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Silodosin is a highly selective antagonist of post-synaptic alpha-1A adrenergic receptors, predominantly located in the prostate, bladder neck, prostatic capsule, and prostatic urethra. Blockade of these receptors relaxes smooth muscle in the lower urinary tract, resulting in improved urinary flow and relief of lower urinary tract symptoms associated with BPH. Dutasteride is a competitive and specific inhibitor of both Type I and Type II 5-alpha-reductase isoenzymes. By inhibiting the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), Dutasteride reduces DHT levels, leading to gradual reduction in prostate volume and improvement in urinary symptoms while decreasing the risk of disease progression.

The recommended dose is one capsule once daily, taken approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Swallow the capsule whole without crushing, chewing, or opening it, or use as directed by the physician.

Avoprost D Capsules are contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min), severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score greater than 10), or known hypersensitivity to Silodosin, Dutasteride, or any component of the formulation. The product should not be administered concomitantly with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors. Dutasteride is contraindicated in women and children.
