Composition
Each gel contains Azelaic Acid 10%, Azelaic Acid 15%, or Azelaic Acid 20%.
Features / Experimentation
Aziderm Gel is a topical dermatological formulation containing Azelaic Acid for the treatment of mild to moderate rosacea and other inflammatory skin conditions. It helps reduce inflammatory papules and pustules, controls bacterial growth, improves skin texture, and promotes a clearer complexion. In addition to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, Azelaic Acid also helps regulate abnormal keratinization and reduce excess pigmentation, making it beneficial for improving overall skin appearance.
Indications
Aziderm Gel is indicated for the topical treatment of inflammatory papules and pustules associated with mild to moderate rosacea. It also helps improve skin texture and reduce inflammation associated with acne-prone skin, as advised by a healthcare professional.
Pharmacodynamics
Azelaic Acid exhibits antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and keratolytic properties. It inhibits the synthesis of cellular proteins in both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, thereby reducing bacterial proliferation. In aerobic bacteria, Azelaic Acid reversibly inhibits several oxidoreductive enzymes, including tyrosinase, mitochondrial respiratory chain enzymes, thioredoxin reductase, 5-alpha-reductase, and DNA polymerases, contributing to its antimicrobial and depigmenting effects. In anaerobic bacteria, it impairs glycolysis, limiting bacterial growth. Additionally, Azelaic Acid helps normalize follicular keratinization and reduces inflammation, improving inflammatory lesions associated with rosacea.
Dosage and administration
Apply a thin layer of Aziderm Gel twice daily to the affected area, or as directed by the physician. Patients should be reassessed if no significant improvement is observed after 12 weeks of continuous treatment.
Contraindications
Aziderm Gel is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Azelaic Acid or any other component of the formulation.
