Clariwin Tablets contain Clarithromycin, a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as atypical respiratory pathogens. The formulation provides reliable antibacterial coverage for respiratory tract, skin, and soft tissue infections. Its proven efficacy against organisms such as Chlamydia pneumoniae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and Legionella pneumophila makes it a valuable option in the management of community-acquired respiratory infections.

Clariwin Tablets are indicated for the treatment of mild to moderately severe infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. These include acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia including infections caused by Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, and Legionella species, acute streptococcal pharyngitis, and uncomplicated skin and soft tissue infections.

Clarithromycin exerts its antibacterial effect by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. This mechanism prevents bacterial growth and multiplication, resulting in effective eradication of susceptible pathogens. The drug demonstrates activity against a broad spectrum of respiratory and soft tissue pathogens, including several atypical organisms.

The usual adult dosage of Clariwin Tablets is 250 mg or 500 mg administered every 12 hours for a duration of 7 to 14 days. The dosage and treatment duration may vary depending on the severity and type of infection and should be determined by the treating physician.

Clariwin Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Clarithromycin, Erythromycin, or any other macrolide antibiotics. The product is also contraindicated in patients with a history of cholestatic jaundice or hepatic dysfunction associated with previous Clarithromycin use. Concurrent administration with Colchicine is contraindicated due to the risk of serious toxicity.
