Each 5 ml of reconstituted suspension contains Amoxicillin Trihydrate IP equivalent to Amoxicillin 400 mg and Potassium Clavulanate IP (as Potassium Clavulanate Diluted IP) equivalent to Clavulanic Acid 57 mg.

Erox CV 457 Dry Syrup is a pediatric antibacterial formulation that combines Amoxicillin, a broad-spectrum aminopenicillin antibiotic, with Clavulanic Acid, a β-lactamase inhibitor. The combination enhances the antibacterial activity of Amoxicillin by protecting it against enzymatic degradation by β-lactamase-producing bacteria. This broad-spectrum formulation is effective against a wide range of susceptible pathogens responsible for respiratory tract, ENT, urinary tract, and skin infections in children. The dry syrup formulation ensures ease of administration and improved compliance in pediatric patients.

Erox CV 457 Dry Syrup is indicated for the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media, sinusitis, skin and skin structure infections, and urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacterial organisms.

Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic penicillin belonging to the β-lactam class of antibiotics. It acts by inhibiting enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of bacterial peptidoglycan, an essential structural component of the bacterial cell wall, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic Acid is a β-lactam compound structurally related to penicillins that inhibits certain β-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria. By preventing the enzymatic inactivation of Amoxicillin, Clavulanic Acid extends the antibacterial spectrum of the combination. Although Clavulanic Acid possesses minimal antibacterial activity by itself, it plays a vital role in overcoming bacterial resistance.

For neonates and infants below 12 weeks (3 months) of age, the recommended dosage is 30 mg/kg/day divided into two doses administered every 12 hours, calculated based on the Amoxicillin component. For patients aged 12 weeks (3 months) and older, the recommended dosage is 45 mg/kg/day divided into two doses administered every 12 hours. The dry syrup should be reconstituted with purified water before use and administered according to the physician’s instructions.

Erox CV 457 Dry Syrup is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Amoxicillin, Clavulanic Acid, penicillins, or any other component of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of allergic reactions to penicillin antibiotics and in those with a previous history of cholestatic jaundice or hepatic dysfunction associated with Amoxicillin-Clavulanate therapy.
