Composition
Erox Dry Syrup is available in strengths containing Amoxicillin 125 mg/5 ml and Amoxicillin 250 mg/5 ml after reconstitution.
Features / Experimentation
Erox Dry Syrup contains Amoxicillin, a broad-spectrum aminopenicillin antibiotic with proven efficacy against a wide range of susceptible bacterial pathogens. It provides effective treatment for common pediatric infections involving the respiratory tract, ear, nose and throat, urinary tract, and soft tissues. The dry syrup formulation ensures easy administration, accurate dosing, and improved compliance in infants and children.
Indications
Erox Dry Syrup is indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, ear, nose and throat (ENT) infections, and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible bacterial organisms.
Pharmacodynamics
Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic penicillin antibiotic that exhibits bactericidal activity against susceptible bacteria during the stage of active multiplication. It acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall biosynthesis, leading to disruption of cell wall integrity and eventual bacterial cell death. Its broad-spectrum antibacterial activity makes it an effective therapeutic option for a variety of common pediatric infections.
Dosage and administration
For children older than 3 months of age, the recommended dosage for ear, nose, and throat infections is 25 mg/kg/day administered in divided doses every 12 hours or 20 mg/kg/day administered in divided doses every 8 hours. For genitourinary tract infections, the recommended dosage is 25 mg/kg/day administered every 12 hours or 20 mg/kg/day administered every 8 hours. The dry syrup should be reconstituted with purified water before administration and used as directed by the physician.q
Contraindications
Erox Dry Syrup is contraindicated in patients who have experienced serious hypersensitivity reactions to Amoxicillin, penicillins, cephalosporins, or other β-lactam antibiotics. Administration should be avoided in patients with a known history of severe allergic reactions associated with these medications.
