Composition
Each tablet contains Faropenem 300 mg.
Features / Experimentation
Faronac ER Tablets contain Faropenem, an orally active penem antibiotic with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The drug demonstrates strong affinity for penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which play a critical role in bacterial cell wall synthesis. Faronac ER provides effective coverage for respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, soft tissue, and gynecological infections, making it a valuable treatment option for susceptible bacterial infections.
Indications
Faronac ER Tablets are indicated for the treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and skin structure infections, and gynecological infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.
Pharmacodynamics
Faropenem is a bactericidal penem antibiotic that exerts its antibacterial action by binding strongly to high-molecular-weight penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located in the bacterial cell wall. By inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, Faropenem interferes with bacterial growth and multiplication, ultimately leading to bacterial cell death. Its broad-spectrum activity and potent affinity for PBPs contribute to its effectiveness against a variety of clinically important pathogens.
Dosage and administration
For ENT infections, lower respiratory tract infections, and genito-urinary infections, the recommended dosage is 200 mg to 300 mg administered three times daily or as directed by the treating physician. The duration of therapy should be based on the severity and type of infection and the patient's clinical response.
Contraindications
Faronac ER Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Faropenem, any component of the formulation, or other drugs belonging to the same class. The product is also contraindicated in patients who have experienced anaphylactic reactions to β-lactam antibiotics.
