Gramocef-O 50/100 Dry Syrup is indicated for the treatment of typhoid fever, urinary tract infections (UTIs), respiratory tract infections, and biliary tract infections caused by susceptible bacterial organisms.

Cefixime is a semi-synthetic, third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that exhibits broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. It acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins, resulting in disruption of cell wall integrity and eventual bacterial cell death. Its potent antibacterial activity makes it effective against a wide range of clinically important pathogens.

The recommended pediatric dosage is 8 mg/kg/day of Cefixime suspension. This may be administered as a single daily dose or divided into two doses of 4 mg/kg every 12 hours. The safety and efficacy of Cefixime have not been established in children below 6 months of age.

Gramocef-O 50/100 Dry Syrup is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Cefixime, cephalosporin antibiotics, or any component of the formulation.
