Each capsule contains Isotretinoin 10 mg or Isotretinoin 20 mg.

Isotane Capsules contain Isotretinoin, an oral retinoid indicated for the treatment of severe acne that is resistant to conventional therapies. It works by significantly reducing sebum production, decreasing the size and activity of sebaceous glands, preventing follicular blockage, and reducing inflammation. Isotane Capsules help achieve long-term remission in severe acne while reducing the risk of permanent acne scarring.

Isotane Capsules are indicated for the treatment of severe nodular acne, cystic acne, and conglobate acne that has not responded adequately to appropriate courses of systemic antibiotic therapy and conventional acne treatments.

Isotretinoin is a stereoisomer of all-trans retinoic acid (tretinoin). Its therapeutic effect in severe acne is primarily attributed to the suppression of sebaceous gland activity and a significant reduction in the size of sebaceous glands, resulting in decreased sebum production. Reduced sebum limits the growth of Cutibacterium acnes (formerly Propionibacterium acnes) and decreases follicular obstruction. Isotretinoin also exhibits anti-inflammatory effects within the dermis, contributing to the resolution of inflammatory acne lesions and reducing the formation of new lesions.

The recommended dosage is 0.5–1 mg/kg/day, administered in two divided doses, or as directed by the physician. Dosage should be individualized based on the severity of acne, patient response, and tolerability.

Isotane Capsules are contraindicated in pregnancy, lactation, and in patients with known hypersensitivity to Isotretinoin or any component of the formulation.
