Each tablet contains Linezolid 600 mg. Each vial contains Linezolid 600 mg in 300 mL infusion.

Linosept is indicated for the treatment of complicated and uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections, community-acquired pneumonia, and osteomyelitis in adults caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria.

Linezolid inhibits bacterial protein synthesis through a unique mechanism that differs from other classes of antibacterial agents, making cross-resistance uncommon. It binds to the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S bacterial ribosomal subunit and prevents the formation of the functional 70S initiation complex, an essential step in bacterial protein synthesis. This inhibition effectively suppresses bacterial growth and eradicates susceptible pathogens.

The recommended dosage of Linosept is 600 mg administered orally or intravenously every 12 hours. The duration of therapy should be determined according to the type, severity, and clinical response of the infection, or as directed by the treating physician.

Linosept is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Linezolid or any component of the formulation. It should not be administered to patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within two weeks of discontinuing MAOI therapy.
