Each tablet contains Ciprofloxacin 250 mg or 500 mg.

Microflox Tablets contain Ciprofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic with potent bactericidal activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is indicated for the treatment of various respiratory, urinary, gastrointestinal, skin, soft tissue, bone, joint, gynecological, and systemic bacterial infections. Microflox Tablets are indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, severe systemic infections, surgical infections, gynecological infections, gastrointestinal infections, bone and joint infections, and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) caused by susceptible bacterial organisms.

Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that exerts its bactericidal action by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. Inhibition of these enzymes prevents bacterial cell division and leads to rapid bacterial cell death, making Ciprofloxacin highly effective against susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens.

For respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, severe systemic infections, surgical infections, gynecological infections, gastrointestinal infections, and bone and joint infections, the recommended dosage is 500 mg to 750 mg every 12 hours. For urinary tract infections, the recommended dosage is 250 mg to 500 mg every 12 hours. Uncomplicated gonorrhoea is treated with a single oral dose of 250 mg. The dosage and duration of therapy should be determined according to the type and severity of infection or as directed by the treating physician.

Microflox Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin, other quinolone antibiotics, or any component of the formulation.
