Each vial contains Cefepime 1 g/250 mg and Tazobactam Sodium 125 mg/62.5 mg for Injection.

Micropime T Injection is a combination of Cefepime, a fourth-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, and Tazobactam Sodium, a potent β-lactamase inhibitor. This combination provides extended-spectrum antibacterial activity against Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and ESBL-producing organisms. Tazobactam protects Cefepime from degradation by β-lactamase enzymes, thereby enhancing its antibacterial efficacy. Micropime T is an effective treatment option for complicated bacterial infections, including hospital-acquired infections and febrile neutropenia.

Micropime T Injection is indicated for the treatment of uncomplicated and complicated urinary tract infections, uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections, complicated intra-abdominal infections, lower respiratory tract infections including pneumonia and bronchitis, septicaemia, and empiric treatment of febrile neutropenic patients caused by susceptible bacterial organisms.

Cefepime is a fourth-generation cephalosporin with bactericidal activity that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in bacterial cell death. Tazobactam is an irreversible β-lactamase inhibitor that inactivates both plasmid-mediated and chromosomally mediated β-lactamases. By protecting Cefepime from enzymatic degradation, Tazobactam extends its antibacterial spectrum and enhances its effectiveness against β-lactamase-producing and ESBL-producing organisms.

The maximum recommended adult dose of Cefepime should not exceed 6 g per day. In paediatric patients aged 2 months to 16 years weighing up to 40 kg, the recommended dosage for uncomplicated and complicated urinary tract infections, uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections, and pneumonia is 50 mg/kg per dose administered every 12 hours. For febrile neutropenia, the recommended dosage is 50 mg/kg every 8 hours. Dosage should be adjusted according to renal function and the severity of infection or as directed by the treating physician.

Micropime T Injection is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Cefepime, Tazobactam, cephalosporins, or any component of the formulation. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins or other β-lactam antibiotics because of the potential for cross-reactivity.
