Each Minolox Tablet contains Minocycline 50 mg or 100 mg.

Minolox Tablet contains Minocycline, a broad-spectrum tetracycline antibiotic with bacteriostatic activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms. It is effective in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, sexually transmitted diseases, rickettsial infections, and other susceptible bacterial infections. Minolox offers excellent tissue penetration and sustained antibacterial activity, making it a valuable option for both common and complicated infections.

Minolox Tablet is indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, ENT infections, rickettsial infections, pneumonia, gonorrhoea, uncomplicated urethral, endocervical and rectal infections, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), anaerobic infections, and meningitis caused by susceptible microorganisms.

Minocycline exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It binds reversibly to the 30S ribosomal subunit, preventing the attachment of transfer RNA (tRNA) to the messenger RNA-ribosome complex and thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. This action suppresses bacterial growth and provides broad-spectrum bacteriostatic activity against susceptible organisms.

For routine bacterial infections, the recommended adult dosage is an initial dose of 200 mg followed by 100 mg every 12 hours. For uncomplicated gonococcal infections other than urethritis and anorectal infections in men, the recommended dosage is 200 mg initially followed by 100 mg every 12 hours. In adult males, treatment should continue for a minimum of 4 days with post-therapy cultures performed within 2 to 3 days. Adult females may require a longer duration of therapy depending on clinical response or as directed by the treating physician.

Minolox Tablet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Minocycline, other tetracycline antibiotics, or any component of the formulation.
