Monoguard Cream contains Sertaconazole Nitrate 2% w/w.

Monoguard Cream contains Sertaconazole Nitrate, a broad-spectrum topical azole antifungal with potent activity against dermatophytes, yeasts, and other pathogenic fungi. It inhibits fungal cell membrane synthesis by blocking ergosterol production, providing effective treatment for superficial fungal infections while relieving associated symptoms such as itching, scaling, and irritation.

Monoguard Cream is indicated for the topical treatment of superficial mycoses, including dermatophytosis.

Sertaconazole is an azole antifungal agent that inhibits the fungal cytochrome P450-mediated 14-α-lanosterol demethylase enzyme, preventing the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. The depletion of ergosterol disrupts membrane integrity, causing leakage of intracellular components and resulting in fungal cell injury and death.

Monoguard Cream should be applied twice daily to the affected area and the surrounding skin for 2 to 4 weeks, or as directed by the physician.

Monoguard Cream is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Sertaconazole Nitrate or any component of the formulation.
