Monoguard Shampoo contains Sertaconazole Nitrate 2% w/v and Zinc Pyrithione 1% w/v.

Monoguard Shampoo combines the antifungal action of Sertaconazole Nitrate with the antimicrobial and fungistatic properties of Zinc Pyrithione to effectively manage seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp. It helps eliminate fungal overgrowth, controls dandruff, relieves itching and scaling, and promotes a healthier scalp.

Monoguard Shampoo is indicated for the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp in adults.

Sertaconazole is an azole antifungal agent that inhibits fungal cytochrome P450-mediated 14-α-lanosterol demethylase, preventing the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. The resulting depletion of ergosterol disrupts membrane integrity and causes fungal cell death. Zinc Pyrithione exerts antifungal and antimicrobial activity by increasing intracellular copper levels, damaging iron-sulphur protein clusters essential for fungal metabolism, thereby inhibiting fungal growth.

Monoguard Shampoo should be applied to the affected scalp areas twice daily, or as directed by the physician.

Monoguard Shampoo is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Sertaconazole Nitrate, Zinc Pyrithione, or any component of the formulation.
