Each tablet contains Mycophenolate Mofetil 500 mg.

Mycophen Tablets contain Mycophenolate Mofetil, an immunosuppressive agent indicated for the prevention of organ rejection in transplant recipients. It is rapidly converted to Mycophenolic Acid (MPA), which selectively suppresses T- and B-lymphocyte proliferation, thereby reducing the risk of immune-mediated graft rejection. Mycophen Tablets are used as part of combination immunosuppressive therapy under specialist supervision following organ transplantation.

Mycophen Tablets are indicated for the prophylaxis of organ rejection in patients receiving allogeneic hepatic transplantation.

Mycophenolate Mofetil is the 2-morpholinoethyl ester of Mycophenolic Acid (MPA) and acts as its prodrug. After oral administration, it is rapidly converted to MPA, which is a potent, selective, reversible, and non-competitive inhibitor of inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH). Inhibition of IMPDH blocks the de novo synthesis of guanosine nucleotides, suppressing the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes, which rely primarily on this pathway for purine synthesis. This selective immunosuppressive action helps prevent graft rejection while having minimal effects on other cells that utilize salvage pathways.

For adult hepatic transplant patients, the recommended dose is: Intravenous: 1 g twice daily, administered over not less than 2 hours, or Oral: 1.5 g twice daily (total daily dose 3 g), or as directed by the transplant specialist.

Mycophen Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Mycophenolate Mofetil, Mycophenolic Acid, or any component of the formulation.
