Petril Tablets: Each tablet contains Clonazepam 0.5 mg / 1 mg / 2 mg. Petril MD (Mouth Dissolving) Tablets: Each tablet contains Clonazepam 0.25 mg / 0.5 mg.

Petril MD Tablets contain Clonazepam, a benzodiazepine with potent anticonvulsant, anxiolytic, sedative, and antipanic properties. The mouth-dissolving formulation provides convenient administration without the need for water, making it suitable for patients who have difficulty swallowing conventional tablets. It is effective in managing seizure disorders and panic disorder by enhancing inhibitory neurotransmission in the central nervous system.

Petril MD Tablets are indicated for the treatment of: Petit mal (absence) seizures and its variants Akinetic seizures Myoclonic seizures Panic disorder

Clonazepam enhances the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. By binding to the benzodiazepine site of the GABA-A receptor complex, it increases GABA-mediated neuronal inhibition, producing anticonvulsant, anxiolytic, sedative, muscle relaxant, and antipanic effects.

Initial adult dose: 1.5 mg/day in three divided doses. Dosage may be increased by 0.5 mg to 1 mg every 3 days until seizures are adequately controlled. Maximum recommended daily dose: 20 mg. Panic Disorder Initial adult dose: 0.25 mg twice daily. The dose may be increased after 3 days to the target dose of 1 mg/day for most patients. Or as directed by the physician.

Petril MD Tablets are contraindicated in patients with: Known hypersensitivity to Clonazepam, benzodiazepines, or any component of the formulation. Significant liver disease (clinical or biochemical evidence). Acute narrow-angle glaucoma.
