Phytoral Ointment contains Ketoconazole 2% w/w.

Phytoral Ointment is a topical broad-spectrum antifungal formulation containing Ketoconazole 2%, effective against dermatophytes and Candida species. It inhibits fungal cell membrane synthesis, helping eliminate fungal infections while relieving associated symptoms such as itching, redness, scaling, and irritation.

Phytoral Ointment is indicated for the topical treatment of tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Epidermophyton floccosum, as well as cutaneous candidiasis.

Ketoconazole is an imidazole antifungal agent that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. Depletion of ergosterol disrupts the integrity and permeability of the fungal cell membrane, resulting in inhibition of fungal growth and eventual fungal cell death.

Phytoral Ointment should be applied once daily to the affected area and the surrounding skin for 2 weeks, or as directed by the physician.

Phytoral Ointment is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ketoconazole or any component of the formulation.
