Ketoconazole is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. This disruption compromises fungal cell membrane integrity, leading to inhibition of fungal growth and elimination of dandruff-causing fungi such as Malassezia species. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic agent that softens and removes excess keratin, scales, and dead skin cells from the scalp. By reducing scalp scaling and promoting normal skin shedding, it enhances the effectiveness of antifungal therapy and helps restore a healthy scalp environment.

For the treatment of dandruff, wet the hair and scalp thoroughly with water and apply sufficient shampoo to produce a rich lather. Gently massage over the entire scalp and leave it on for 3–5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Use twice weekly for 2–4 weeks, or as directed by the physician. For prophylaxis, use once every 1–2 weeks.

Phytoral-SP Shampoo is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Ketoconazole, Salicylic Acid, or any other component of the formulation.
