Each vial contains Cefuroxime Sodium 250 mg, 750 mg, or 1.5 g for IV/IM administration.

Pulmocef Injection contains Cefuroxime Sodium, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including many β-lactamase-producing organisms. It is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, ENT infections, and skin and soft tissue infections. Pulmocef Injection offers flexible intravenous and intramuscular administration with proven efficacy in managing moderate to severe bacterial infections.

Pulmocef Injection is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), ENT infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and other infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.

Cefuroxime exerts its bactericidal action by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This interferes with peptidoglycan synthesis, leading to disruption of the bacterial cell wall, cell lysis, and ultimately bacterial death. Cefuroxime is active against a broad range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens, including many β-lactamase-producing strains.

For adults, the usual dosage ranges from 250 mg every 12 hours to 750 mg–1.5 g every 8 hours, depending on the type and severity of infection, generally for a duration of 5 to 10 days. In paediatric patients older than 3 months, the recommended dosage is 50–100 mg/kg/day administered in equally divided doses every 6 to 8 hours. Dosage adjustments may be required in patients with renal impairment or as directed by the treating physician.

Pulmocef Injection is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Cefuroxime, cephalosporin antibiotics, or any component of the formulation.
