Each tablet contains Cefuroxime Axetil 250 mg/500 mg and Clavulanic Acid 62.5 mg/125 mg.

Pulmocef CV Tablets combine Cefuroxime Axetil, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, with Clavulanic Acid, a potent β-lactamase inhibitor. This combination provides broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including β-lactamase-producing organisms. Pulmocef CV is effective in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and gonococcal urethritis caused by susceptible microorganisms.

Pulmocef CV Tablets are indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible microorganisms, including Staphylococcus aureus, such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), upper and lower respiratory tract infections, uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections, acute bacterial sinusitis, acute otitis media, acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, and uncomplicated gonococcal urethritis.

Cefuroxime is a bactericidal cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to essential penicillin-binding proteins, leading to bacterial cell death. It is active against a broad range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms, including many β-lactamase-producing strains. Clavulanic Acid is an irreversible β-lactamase inhibitor that protects Cefuroxime from enzymatic degradation by resistant bacteria, thereby restoring and enhancing its antibacterial activity against β-lactamase-producing pathogens.

For adults and adolescents aged 13 years and older, the recommended dosage is 250 mg every 12 hours for 10 days for pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and acute bacterial maxillary sinusitis. For acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, secondary bacterial infections of acute bronchitis, uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections, the recommended dosage is 250 mg or 500 mg every 12 hours for 5 to 10 days depending on the severity of infection. In paediatric patients younger than 13 years who can swallow tablets whole, the recommended dosage for acute bacterial otitis media and acute bacterial maxillary sinusitis is 250 mg every 12 hours for 10 days, or as directed by the treating physician.

Pulmocef CV Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Cefuroxime Axetil, Clavulanic Acid, cephalosporins, penicillins, other β-lactam antibiotics, or any component of the formulation.
