Each capsule contains Amoxycillin 250 mg or 500 mg.

Pulmoxyl Capsules contain Amoxycillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin-class antibacterial agent with potent bactericidal activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is effective in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, ear, nose and throat infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and is also used in combination therapy for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori associated with duodenal ulcer disease.

Pulmoxyl Capsules are indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible microorganisms, including infections of the ear, nose, and throat, lower respiratory tract infections, genitourinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and in combination therapy for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection associated with duodenal ulcer disease.

Amoxycillin is a penicillin-class antibiotic that exerts bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis during the active multiplication phase of susceptible bacteria. By interfering with peptidoglycan synthesis, it weakens the bacterial cell wall, leading to cell lysis and bacterial death.

The usual adult dosage is 250 mg to 500 mg three times daily or 750 mg to 1 g every 12 hours, depending on the severity and type of infection. For the treatment of uncomplicated gonorrhoea, a single oral dose of 3 g is recommended. In neonates and infants aged 3 months or younger, the maximum recommended dosage is 30 mg/kg/day divided into doses every 12 hours, or as directed by the treating physician.

Pulmoxyl Capsules are contraindicated in patients with a history of serious hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome, to Amoxycillin, penicillins, cephalosporins, or any other β-lactam antibiotics.
