Each vial contains Ceftriaxone Sodium equivalent to Ceftriaxone 250 mg or 1 g.

Ritecef Injection contains Ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is effective in the treatment of urinary tract infections, lower respiratory tract infections, septicaemia, bacteraemia, meningitis, intra-abdominal infections, and infections caused by Pseudomonas species. The injectable formulation provides reliable parenteral therapy for moderate to severe bacterial infections in hospital settings.

Ritecef Injection is indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs), lower respiratory tract infections, bacteraemia, septicaemia, meningitis, intra-abdominal infections, and infections caused by susceptible Pseudomonas species and other susceptible microorganisms.

Ceftriaxone is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with potent bactericidal activity. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to one or more penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are essential for peptidoglycan synthesis. This disrupts bacterial cell wall integrity, leading to cell lysis and death. Ceftriaxone demonstrates excellent activity against a broad range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens and remains stable against many β-lactamases.

For adults and children over 12 years of age, the usual recommended dosage is 1–2 g once daily (every 24 hours). In severe infections or infections caused by moderately susceptible organisms, the dosage may be increased up to 4 g once daily, or as directed by the treating physician.

Ritecef Injection is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ceftriaxone, cephalosporins, or any component of the formulation.
