It is specially formulated for paediatric patients and is effective in the treatment of enteric (typhoid) fever, urinary tract infections, otitis media, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis caused by susceptible bacterial pathogens. The convenient oral dry syrup formulation ensures accurate dosing and improved compliance in children.

Ritecef O 100 Dry Syrup is indicated for the treatment of enteric (typhoid) fever, uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs), otitis media, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis caused by susceptible bacterial pathogens.

Cefixime is a semi-synthetic, oral third-generation cephalosporin with potent bactericidal activity against a broad range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, resulting in bacterial cell lysis and death. Cefixime demonstrates excellent stability against many β-lactamases, making it effective against numerous resistant bacterial strains.

For paediatric patients aged 6 months and older, the recommended dosage is 8 mg/kg/day of the suspension. This may be administered as a single daily dose or divided into two doses of 4 mg/kg every 12 hours, or as directed by the treating physician.

Ritecef O 100 Dry Syrup is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Cefixime, other cephalosporins, or any component of the formulation.
