Each vial contains Tigecycline 50 mg.

Teglin Injection contains Tigecycline, a glycylcycline antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against a wide range of Gram-positive, Gram-negative, anaerobic, and atypical pathogens. It is indicated for the treatment of complicated skin and skin structure infections as well as complicated intra-abdominal infections. Its unique mechanism of action helps overcome many common bacterial resistance mechanisms, making it an effective option for the management of serious infections caused by susceptible organisms.

Teglin Injection is indicated for the treatment of complicated skin and skin structure infections (cSSSI) and complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAI) caused by susceptible bacterial pathogens.

Tigecycline is a glycylcycline antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit and blocking the entry of aminoacyl-tRNA molecules into the A-site of the ribosome. This action prevents the incorporation of amino acids into elongating peptide chains, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Tigecycline is generally considered a bacteriostatic agent.

The recommended dosage regimen is an initial loading dose of 100 mg, followed by 50 mg every 12 hours administered by intravenous infusion over 30 to 60 minutes. The recommended treatment duration is 5 to 14 days for complicated skin and skin structure infections and complicated intra-abdominal infections, and 7 to 14 days for community-acquired bacterial pneumonia. The duration of therapy should be guided by the severity and site of infection and the patient's clinical response.

Teglin Injection is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Tigecycline or any component of the formulation.
