Voxamin Tablets are available in strengths containing Fluvoxamine Maleate 50 mg and 100 mg.

Voxamin Tablets contain Fluvoxamine Maleate, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that enhances serotonergic neurotransmission by selectively inhibiting the serotonin reuptake transporter. The medication is effective in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and depression by increasing serotonin availability in the central nervous system. Voxamin helps reduce obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, depressive symptoms, and associated anxiety while providing sustained improvement in emotional well-being.

Voxamin Tablets are indicated for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and depressive disorders in adults and appropriate pediatric patients with OCD.

Fluvoxamine Maleate is a potent and selective inhibitor of the serotonin reuptake transporter (SERT). By blocking the reuptake of serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine or 5-HT) into presynaptic neurons, it increases serotonin concentrations within the synaptic cleft and enhances serotonergic neurotransmission in the central nervous system. Improved serotonergic activity contributes to the reduction of depressive symptoms, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, and anxiety associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

For adults, the recommended starting dose is 50 mg once daily at bedtime. The dosage may be increased by 50 mg every 4 to 7 days according to clinical response and patient tolerability, up to a maximum of 300 mg per day. Daily doses exceeding 100 mg should be administered in two divided doses. For children and adolescents aged 8 to 17 years with obsessive-compulsive disorder, the recommended starting dose is 25 mg at bedtime. The dosage may be increased by 25 mg every 4 to 7 days as tolerated, with a maximum daily dose of 200 mg for children aged 8–11 years and 300 mg for adolescents aged 12–17 years. Daily doses exceeding 50 mg should be administered in divided doses or as directed by the treating physician.

Voxamin Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Fluvoxamine or any component of the formulation. Concomitant administration with Tizanidine, Thioridazine, Alosetron, or Pimozide is contraindicated. The use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) intended for psychiatric disorders is contraindicated during treatment and within 14 days before or after Fluvoxamine therapy due to the risk of serotonin syndrome. Fluvoxamine should also not be initiated in patients receiving Linezolid or intravenous Methylene Blue.
