Each vial contains Ceftazidime Pentahydrate equivalent to Ceftazidime 2 g and Avibactam Sodium equivalent to Avibactam 0.5 g.

Zambact A Injection is a combination of Ceftazidime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, and Avibactam, a novel non-β-lactam β-lactamase inhibitor. This combination restores the activity of Ceftazidime against β-lactamase-producing Gram-negative pathogens, providing broad-spectrum antibacterial coverage for serious and complicated hospital-acquired infections. It is indicated for the treatment of complicated intra-abdominal infections, complicated urinary tract infections including pyelonephritis, and hospital-acquired pneumonia including ventilator-associated pneumonia caused by susceptible Gram-negative microorganisms.

Zambact A Injection is indicated for the treatment of complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAI), complicated urinary tract infections (cUTI) including pyelonephritis, hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP), and ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) caused by susceptible Gram-negative microorganisms.

Ceftazidime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibacterial agent that exerts bactericidal activity by binding to essential penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), thereby inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Avibactam is a non-β-lactam β-lactamase inhibitor that inactivates a broad range of β-lactamases responsible for degrading Ceftazidime. Avibactam restores and enhances the antibacterial activity of Ceftazidime against resistant Gram-negative bacteria without affecting its activity against susceptible organisms.

Zambact A 2.5 g for Injection is supplied as a sterile single-dose vial containing Ceftazidime 2 g and Avibactam 0.5 g. The reconstituted solution should be administered by intravenous infusion over 120 minutes, using an appropriate infusion solution, or as directed by the treating physician.

Zambact A Injection is contraindicated in patients with known serious hypersensitivity to Ceftazidime, Avibactam, other Avibactam-containing products, cephalosporins, or any component of the formulation.
