Zovane Tablets are available in strengths containing Vilazodone Hydrochloride equivalent to Vilazodone 20 mg and 40 mg.

Zovane Tablets contain Vilazodone Hydrochloride, a novel antidepressant that combines selective serotonin reuptake inhibition (SSRI) with partial agonist activity at serotonin 5-HT1A receptors. This dual mechanism enhances serotonergic neurotransmission while modulating serotonin receptor activity, providing effective treatment for major depressive disorder (MDD). Zovane helps improve mood, reduce depressive symptoms, and restore emotional well-being with once-daily dosing.

Zovane Tablets are indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults.

Vilazodone is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and a partial agonist at serotonin 5-HT1A receptors. It binds with high affinity to the serotonin transporter, selectively inhibiting the neuronal reuptake of serotonin and thereby increasing serotonin concentrations within the synaptic cleft. Simultaneously, its partial agonist activity at 5-HT1A receptors further enhances serotonergic neurotransmission. The combined pharmacological actions contribute to its antidepressant effect by improving serotonergic activity within the central nervous system.

The recommended target dosage of Zovane Tablets is 20 mg to 40 mg once daily, administered with food. Treatment should be initiated with 10 mg once daily for the first seven days, followed by an increase to 20 mg once daily. If clinically indicated, the dosage may be increased to 40 mg once daily after a minimum interval of seven days between dosage adjustments. Dosage should be individualized according to patient response and tolerability.

Zovane Tablets are contraindicated in patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of discontinuing MAOI therapy. Similarly, MAOI treatment should not be initiated within 14 days after discontinuing Vilazodone because of the increased risk of serotonin syndrome.
