Composition
Each tablet contains Ferrous Ascorbate equivalent to Elemental Iron 100 mg + Folic Acid 1.5 mg
Features / Experimentation
Haematinic formulation used in the management of iron deficiency anaemia. Helps improve haemoglobin levels, supports red blood cell formation and replenishes iron and folate deficiency.
Indications
Indicated for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anaemia and folate deficiency conditions.
Pharmacodynamics
Iron is an essential component of haemoglobin and is necessary for effective erythropoiesis and oxygen transport. It also acts as a cofactor for various enzymatic reactions. Folic acid is essential for nucleoprotein synthesis, cell growth, DNA synthesis and maintenance of normal erythropoiesis.
Dosage and administration
One tablet 1–2 times daily in adults or as directed by the physician.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity, megaloblastic anaemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency, haemosiderosis, haemochromatosis, haemoglobinopathies and inflammatory bowel disease.
