Each 5 mL (one teaspoonful) contains Chlorpheniramine Maleate 2 mg and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 5 mg.

Allercet Cold Syrup is a combination of Chlorpheniramine Maleate, an antihistamine, and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride, a nasal decongestant, formulated to provide effective symptomatic relief from the common cold. It helps relieve nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and other allergy-related symptoms while improving breathing comfort. The syrup offers rapid and sustained relief, making it suitable for both adults and children as per the recommended dosage.

Allercet Cold Syrup is indicated for the symptomatic relief of the common cold, including nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea, and other upper respiratory symptoms associated with allergic and viral conditions.

Chlorpheniramine Maleate is a first-generation H1-antihistamine that competitively blocks histamine at H1 receptors, thereby reducing allergic symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and nasal discharge. It also possesses mild antimuscarinic, moderate antiserotonin, and local anesthetic properties. Phenylephrine Hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic alpha-adrenergic agonist that produces vasoconstriction of nasal blood vessels, reducing mucosal swelling and relieving nasal congestion to improve airflow through the nasal passages.

The recommended dosage is 5 mL every 4–6 hours for adults and children aged 12 years and above, not exceeding 30 mL in 24 hours. Children 6 to under 12 years should receive 2.5 mL every 4–6 hours, with a maximum of 15 mL daily. Children 2 to under 6 years should receive 1.25 mL every 4–6 hours, not exceeding 7.5 mL daily. The syrup is not recommended for children below 2 years of age, unless directed by a physician.

Allercet Cold Syrup is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride, or any component of the formulation. It should not be used in patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of discontinuing MAOI therapy. The product is also contraindicated in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma and during acute asthmatic attacks.
