Each tablet contains Glipizide 5 mg.

Dibizide Tablets contain Glipizide, a second-generation sulfonylurea oral antidiabetic agent indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It stimulates insulin secretion from functioning pancreatic β-cells, thereby helping to reduce elevated blood glucose levels. Dibizide is intended for use in patients whose blood glucose cannot be adequately controlled through diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications alone.

Dibizide Tablets are indicated for the treatment of non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM), also known as type 2 diabetes mellitus, in adults requiring pharmacological management to achieve adequate glycemic control.

Glipizide primarily lowers blood glucose by stimulating insulin secretion from the pancreatic β-cells. Its glucose-lowering effect depends on the presence of functioning pancreatic islet cells. By increasing endogenous insulin release, Glipizide improves both fasting and postprandial blood glucose control, making it an effective oral antidiabetic therapy for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

The recommended starting dose is 5 mg orally before breakfast. Elderly patients and those with hepatic impairment may be initiated on a lower dose of 2.5 mg once daily. The dosage should be individualized according to the patient's blood glucose response and adjusted under the supervision of the treating physician.

Dibizide Tablets are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Glipizide or any component of the formulation. It should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis, with or without coma.
