Features / Experimentation
Paediatric analgesic and antipyretic suspension formulated for effective relief from fever and mild to moderate pain in children. Provides reliable symptomatic relief with good tolerability.
Indications
Indicated for the treatment of fever, post-vaccination fever and mild to moderate pain in paediatric patients.
Pharmacodynamics
Paracetamol is a centrally acting analgesic and antipyretic agent that elevates the pain threshold and reduces fever by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis within the central nervous system. It has minimal anti-inflammatory activity.
Dosage and administration
Recommended dose: 10–15 mg/kg every 4 hours as required. Maximum 4 doses in 24 hours. Not recommended for children below 6 years of age or as directed by the physician.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to paracetamol or formulation components and in severe or active hepatic impairment.
