Composition
Each tablet contains Aceclofenac 100 mg.
Features / Experimentation
Dolowin is an oral nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) containing Aceclofenac 100 mg, formulated to provide effective relief from pain, inflammation, and joint stiffness associated with musculoskeletal and arthritic disorders. It offers potent analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, thereby improving mobility and reducing discomfort in patients with chronic inflammatory joint diseases.
Indications
Dolowin is indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It helps alleviate joint pain, swelling, tenderness, and stiffness, improving functional capacity and quality of life in affected patients.
Pharmacodynamics
Aceclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with marked anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Its therapeutic effects are primarily mediated through inhibition of the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme, resulting in reduced synthesis of prostaglandins that are responsible for pain, inflammation, and swelling. By suppressing prostaglandin production, Aceclofenac provides effective symptomatic relief in inflammatory musculoskeletal disorders.
Dosage and administration
The recommended dose is 200 mg daily, administered as one 100 mg tablet in the morning and one 100 mg tablet in the evening, or as directed by the treating physician. The tablets should preferably be taken with food to reduce gastrointestinal irritation.
Contraindications
Dolowin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Aceclofenac or any component of the formulation, active or recurrent peptic ulcer disease or gastrointestinal hemorrhage, severe hepatic or renal failure, established congestive heart failure (NYHA Class II–IV), ischaemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, cerebrovascular disease, history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAID therapy, and active bleeding disorders.
