Each film-coated tablet contains Empagliflozin 10 mg or 25 mg and Linagliptin 5 mg.

Emparo-L Tablets combine Empagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, with Linagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, providing dual mechanisms to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Empagliflozin promotes urinary glucose excretion by inhibiting renal glucose reabsorption, while Linagliptin enhances endogenous incretin activity to increase glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppress glucagon release. The once-daily combination supports effective glycemic management alongside diet and exercise.

Emparo-L Tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Empagliflozin selectively inhibits SGLT2, reducing renal glucose reabsorption, lowering the renal threshold for glucose, and increasing urinary glucose excretion. Linagliptin inhibits the DPP-4 enzyme responsible for degradation of the incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP. This results in increased active incretin concentrations, enhanced glucose-dependent insulin secretion, reduced glucagon secretion, and improved glycemic control.

The recommended initial dosage is Empagliflozin 10 mg with Linagliptin 5 mg once daily, taken in the morning with or without food. Depending on the patient's glycemic response and tolerability, the dose may be increased to Empagliflozin 25 mg with Linagliptin 5 mg once daily. The tablets should be swallowed whole as directed by the treating physician.

Emparo-L Tablets are contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR below 30 mL/min/1.73 m²), end-stage renal disease, or those receiving dialysis. The product is also contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Empagliflozin, Linagliptin, or any excipient in the formulation.
