Fulgest Capsules are indicated for the treatment of secondary amenorrhea, functional uterine bleeding due to hormonal imbalance, progesterone deficiency, and luteal phase support in women participating in fertilization programs. They are also indicated for the prevention of endometrial hyperplasia in postmenopausal women receiving estrogen replacement therapy.

Progesterone is a naturally occurring steroid hormone that prepares and maintains the endometrium for implantation and pregnancy. It converts the estrogen-primed proliferative endometrium into the secretory phase, creating a suitable environment for embryo implantation. Progesterone also regulates menstrual cycles, suppresses excessive endometrial proliferation, and counteracts the proliferative effects of estrogen on the endometrium, thereby reducing the risk of endometrial hyperplasia.

Prevention of Endometrial Hyperplasia: 200 mg orally once daily at bedtime for 12 consecutive days during each 28-day cycle in postmenopausal women receiving daily estrogen therapy. Treatment of Secondary Amenorrhea: 400 mg orally once daily at bedtime for 10 days, or as directed by the physician.

Fulgest Capsules are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Progesterone or any component of the formulation. They are also contraindicated in patients with undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding, known, suspected, or previous breast cancer, or other conditions where progesterone therapy is contraindicated.
