Gansecure Eye Gel contains Ganciclovir 0.15%, a topical antiviral ophthalmic gel formulated for the treatment of acute herpetic keratitis (dendritic ulcers). It selectively inhibits herpes simplex virus (HSV) replication, helping promote corneal healing, reduce viral multiplication, and improve clinical recovery while preserving healthy ocular tissues.

Gansecure Eye Gel is indicated for the treatment of acute herpetic keratitis (dendritic ulcers) caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV).

Ganciclovir is a synthetic guanosine analogue antiviral agent that inhibits the replication of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV). After phosphorylation within infected cells, Ganciclovir is converted to its active triphosphate form, which selectively inhibits viral DNA polymerase. Incorporation into viral DNA results in DNA chain termination, preventing further viral DNA synthesis and replication while minimizing effects on normal host cells. This targeted antiviral activity promotes healing of herpetic corneal lesions.

Instill one drop into the affected eye five times daily (approximately every three hours while awake) until the corneal ulcer has healed. Thereafter, instill one drop three times daily for an additional seven days, or as directed by the physician.

No specific contraindications have been established for Gansecure Eye Gel. However, patients with known hypersensitivity to Ganciclovir or any component of the formulation should consult their physician before use.
