Composition
Each film-coated tablet contains Levocetirizine 5 mg.
Features / Experimentation
Non-sedating antihistaminic formulation providing effective relief from allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria. Offers selective H1-receptor blockade for prolonged control of allergic symptoms.
Indications
Indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria.
Pharmacodynamics
Levocetirizine, the active enantiomer of cetirizine, is a selective H1-receptor antagonist that inhibits histamine-mediated allergic responses, thereby reducing symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, itching, and urticaria.
Dosage and administration
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above: 5 mg (one tablet) once daily in the evening or as directed by the physician.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to levocetirizine, cetirizine, or any component of the formulation. Contraindicated in patients with end-stage renal impairment with creatinine clearance below 10 mL/min, patients undergoing hemodialysis, and children aged 6–11 years with renal impairment.
