Each sustained-release capsule contains Indomethacin 75 mg.

Microcid-SR is a sustained-release formulation of Indomethacin, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. The sustained-release formulation provides prolonged therapeutic action, allowing convenient dosing while effectively relieving pain, inflammation, and stiffness associated with rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders.

Microcid-SR is indicated as an anti-rheumatic and anti-inflammatory agent for the management of painful inflammatory conditions, including acute musculoskeletal disorders such as bursitis and tendinitis of the shoulder, as well as other conditions requiring NSAID therapy for pain and inflammation.

Indomethacin exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting both cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in inflammation, pain, and fever. Decreased prostaglandin production in peripheral tissues results in effective anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic activity.

For acute painful shoulder conditions, including bursitis and tendinitis, the recommended dose is 75–150 mg daily in three or four divided doses, or as directed by the treating physician.

Microcid-SR is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Indomethacin, other NSAIDs, or any component of the formulation. It is also contraindicated for the treatment of perioperative pain associated with coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery and in patients with a history of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions following aspirin or other NSAID administration.
