Each vial contains Iron Sucrose 100 mg/5 mL Injection

Intravenous iron replacement therapy used for rapid and effective correction of iron deficiency anaemia. Helps restore iron stores and improve haemoglobin synthesis in patients requiring parenteral iron supplementation.

Indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia where rapid and reliable iron replacement is required.

Iron sucrose is a poly-nuclear iron (III)-hydroxide complex in sucrose. Following intravenous administration, the complex dissociates into iron and sucrose. The released iron binds to transferrin and is transported to erythroid precursor cells for incorporation into haemoglobin during red blood cell maturation.

Adults: 100 mg by slow intravenous injection or infusion. Paediatric patients: 0.5 mg/kg by slow intravenous injection or infusion or as directed by the physician.

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to iron sucrose or any component of the formulation.
