Micronac Eye Drops contain Nepafenac 0.1%, a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery. Following ocular administration, Nepafenac is converted into its active metabolite, Amfenac, providing effective inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis to reduce postoperative inflammation and improve patient comfort.

Nepafenac is a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) prodrug that readily penetrates the cornea after ocular administration. It is rapidly converted by ocular tissue hydrolases into Amfenac, the active metabolite. Amfenac inhibits cyclooxygenase (prostaglandin H synthase), an enzyme responsible for prostaglandin synthesis. This action helps reduce postoperative ocular pain and inflammation following cataract surgery.

Instill one drop into the affected eye three times daily, beginning one day before cataract surgery, continuing on the day of surgery, and for the first two weeks of the postoperative period, or as directed by the ophthalmologist.

Micronac Eye Drops are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Nepafenac, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or any component of the formulation.
