Moxigram Eye Ointment contains Moxifloxacin 0.5%, a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic formulated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible organisms. It provides broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against gram-positive and gram-negative ocular pathogens by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, helping eliminate infection and promote faster healing.

Moxigram Eye Ointment is indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible organisms.

Moxifloxacin is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic that exerts its antibacterial activity by inhibiting DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and chromosome segregation during bacterial cell division. Inhibition of these enzymes disrupts bacterial DNA synthesis, resulting in rapid bactericidal activity against susceptible ocular pathogens responsible for bacterial conjunctivitis.

Apply a ½-inch ribbon of ointment into the lower conjunctival sac of the affected eye three times daily for the first two days. For the next five days, apply a ½-inch ribbon twice daily, or as directed by the physician.

Moxigram Eye Ointment is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Moxifloxacin, other quinolone antibiotics, or any component of the formulation.
