Moxigram LX Eye Drops combine Moxifloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic, with Loteprednol Etabonate, a potent ophthalmic corticosteroid, to provide effective postoperative management of ocular inflammation while helping prevent or treat susceptible bacterial infections. The formulation reduces redness, swelling, pain, and inflammation, promoting comfortable postoperative recovery.

Moxigram LX Eye Drops are indicated for the treatment of postoperative steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions where bacterial ocular infection exists or there is a risk of bacterial ocular infection.

Moxifloxacin is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and cell division. This action effectively eliminates susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative ocular pathogens. Loteprednol Etabonate is a topical ophthalmic corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory activity that suppresses the production of inflammatory mediators, including prostaglandins, thereby reducing ocular inflammation, redness, swelling, and discomfort. The combination provides simultaneous antibacterial protection and anti-inflammatory therapy during the postoperative period.

Instill one to two drops into the affected eye(s) three times daily, beginning 24 hours after surgery and continuing throughout the first two weeks of the postoperative period, or as directed by the physician.

Moxigram LX Eye Drops are contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Moxifloxacin, Loteprednol Etabonate, or any component of the formulation. They are also contraindicated in most viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva, including epithelial herpes simplex keratitis (dendritic keratitis), vaccinia, varicella, mycobacterial infections of the eye, and fungal diseases of the ocular structures.
